The Missouri Democratic Party is proud to announce the return of Camp Carnahan, the MDP’s premier campaign training program, which provides training to candidates, future campaign staff, and advocacy and issue organizers, to be held on July 12–13, 2025, in the St. Louis region. The registration deadline is July 1, 2025.

First launched in 1997 by Governor Mel Carnahan, Camp Carnahan has trained over 1,200 Democrats, many of whom have gone on to win elected office or lead successful campaigns. This summer’s two-day program continues that legacy with hands-on instruction, guest speakers, and track-based workshops designed to equip the next generation of Democratic leaders and organizers with the skills to win close races.

“We’re laying the groundwork for success in 2026 by training a new wave of campaigners, organizers, and candidates ready to fight for every corner of Missouri,” said MDP Chair Russ Carnahan. “If you’ve ever thought about running for office or stepping into leadership on a campaign, this is your chance.”

Camp Carnahan 2025 Details:

Date: Saturday, July 12 – Sunday, July 13, 2025

Location: St. Louis, Missouri (Accepted applicants will receive details on July 2, 2025)

Registration Deadline: July 1, 2025

Tracks Offered:

Candidate Training – For Missourians considering a run for public office

Campaign Management – For those looking to manage or work on campaigns

Issue Advocacy and Organizing – For future grassroots and issue-based leaders

Participants will join teams within their selected tracks and engage in simulations, team competitions, and interactive sessions led by top Democratic professionals from Missouri and across the country. Meals will be provided, and all attendees will receive training materials and access to the MDP’s job bank.

The cost to attend is $35 and includes a one-year membership in the Missouri Democratic Party.
