Missouri Democratic Party Statement After Government Oversight Committee Hearing

Alex Schupp

Kansas City, MO (December 15, 2020)  After a contentious hearing for the Special Committee on Government Oversight featuring a conspiracy theory filled testimony by Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Missouri Democratic Party Chair Michael Butler released the following statement:

“Today, I’d like to congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden after electors from across the country cast their ballots. It’s beyond disturbing that on the same day the electoral college voted, Republicans in Missouri brought in Rudy Giuliani, allowing him to testify virtually, something generally not afforded to everyday Missourians, to cast aspersions, peddle conspiracy theories, and outright lie about America’s fair and free elections. Democrats stood with democracy, and I am extremely proud of State Representatives Crystal Quade, Peter Merideth, Wiley Price IV, Jon Carpenter, and Keri Ingle for fighting so that every vote is counted and respected.”
