Missouri Democratic Party response to report that St. Louis Planned Parenthood may have license revoked by Parson Administration, becoming the first state without access to the right to choose.

Kansas City, Mo. (May 28, 2019) – According to a report today from CBS News, the St. Louis Planned Parenthood clinic is facing revocation of their license by the administration of Governor Mike Parson. If their license is not renewed by Friday, Missouri would become the first state without an abortion clinic since 1973 when Roe v. Wade was decided.

The Missouri Democratic Party released the following statement:

“On the heels of Governor Parson signing into law a ban on a woman’s right to choose before she may even know she is pregnant, even in cases of rape or incest, comes news that this administration is placing additional bureaucratic barriers on access to reproductive health services guaranteed by the Constitution. This is part of a long pattern of chipping away at access to safe and legal reproductive healthcare by Missouri government that puts women, especially those who cannot afford to travel out of state, in danger.”
