During a Campaign Stop This Morning, Governor Mike Parson Parson Violated Cape Girardeau’s Mask Mandate

Kansas City, MO  With less than one week until Election Day, Governor Parson continues to campaign maskless, this time egregiously violating Cape Girardeau’s mask mandate. Today, at a campaign visit to My Daddy’s Cheesecake in Cape Girardeau, Parson completely ignored Cape Girardeau’s mask mandate that explicitly states masks must be worn inside public businesses and when speaking to others less than six feet away. Even when a mask mandate was instituted at the local level like he claims he supports, the Governor doesn’t follow it.

“Today, Governor Parson egregiously violated Cape Girardeau’s mask mandate– even going so far as to post pictures publicly of him inches from supporters without a mask. Missouri deserves a governor who leads by example– Parson should be wearing a ‘dang mask,’ especially while Missouri hospitals are overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients,” said Missouri Democratic Party Executive Director Lauren Gepford.
