Missouri Democratic Party Statement Following Gubernatorial Debate

Oct 09, 2020

Kansas City, Mo. (October 9, 2020) - Following today’s gubernatorial debate, Missouri Democratic Party Acting Chair Clem Smith released the following statement:

“There couldn’t have been more of a contrast on the debate stage today. Missourians are ready for a new way, not the same career politicians who cater to their lobbyist pals, not the heartless insiders who brag about the savings from kicking over 100,000 kids off their healthcare, and certainly not those so-called leaders who can’t take the advice of medical experts in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Auditor Galloway proved, once again, why her campaign has so much momentum. While Governor Parson has spent his career in the swamp, Auditor Galloway has fought to uncover government waste and end corruption — and build a government that finally delivers for working families.  Mike Parson can ignore scientists, doctors, and nurses, but he won’t be able to ignore the Missourians voting him out of office in November.”
