Kansas City, Mo. — Today, Missouri Democratic Party Executive Director Lauren Gepford released the following statement on Governor Parson’s campaign allies’ sexist attacks on Auditor Galloway. Yesterday, Uniting Missouri, Governor Parson’s PAC released a digital video that attacked Auditor Galloway as not qualified to be Missouri’s next governor. The PAC made the same attack in a new TV ad this morning:

“Let’s be clear: Uniting Missouri’s latest ad is sexist and has no place in Missouri politics in 2020. Missouri voters actually elected Nicole Galloway to her current position and, as State Auditor, she has uncovered $370 million in wasted taxpayer money and helped bring 63 criminal counts against corrupt public officials. To call her inexperienced or unqualified is demeaning to every woman who works in public service. This ad reinforces toxic tropes and should immediately be taken down.”
