2026 State & Congressional races

On the first day of candidate filing, the Missouri Democratic Party had one of our most successful first filing days in decades, with 154 candidates filing to run in 123 out of the 189 congressional or state level races across the state this cycle on just the first day.

We currently have 161 candidates filed to run at the state or congressional level. (Information retrieved at 3PM on March 3, 2026)

If you want to see the unofficial list of candidates who are currently running in each race, you can see that list here on the Missouri Secretary of State's website.  After candidate filing closes at 5PM on March 31st, 2026, the Missouri Democratic Party website will have a central candidate hub, providing you with information about who is running in each race across the state ahead of the primary election on August 4, 2026.
