Regional Organizer Position, Missouri Democratic Party, Job Summary


The Missouri Democratic Party is building a strong & aggressive organizational structure in preparation for the critical 2026 election cycle. Our goal is to become an organization designed to win candidate elections in 2026 and beyond, and support issues that we care about such as the upcoming ballot initiatives on key issues such as redistricting, taxes & defending reproductive freedom in November of 2026.


We are looking to develop homegrown Missouri talent to become exceptional political organizers. Interested applicants should have familiarity with their region of the state of Missouri. Experience volunteering or working on political campaigns or organizing environments, comfortable working long hours, and access to reliable transportation are required.


The MDP Regional Organizers will grow and manage an already powerful network of volunteers and democratic activists across the state. 


This position is expected to run through November 7, 2026.


The Opportunity:

As a Regional Field Organizer, you will build local grassroots teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer retention. You will be responsible for executing a field program that works to elect Democrats up and down the ticket by building and maintaining the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success in 2026. 


Essential Functions

Volunteer Outreach: Identify and engage potential volunteers on college campuses, in local Democratic clubs, and allied issues-based groups. Map and catalog their volunteer capacity and interests.

Community Engagement: Conduct in-person meetings, attend events, and host virtual meetings to actively connect with individuals and groups. This is an intensive, field-based organizing role.

Field Engagement: Ability to eventually recruit and manage volunteers for ballot initiative petition signature collection, canvasses, and phone banks. 

Public Speaking: Present the Missouri Democratic Party's mission, endorsed issues, and candidates in front of groups of 10-30 people, inspiring interest, and support.

Building Relationships: Develop strong relationships with Democratic activists within the community and involve them in field events and activities.

Partnerships: Foster partnerships with local county parties, progressive groups, and local democratic elected officials.

Experience: Ideal candidates will have experience in community organizing, issue advocacy, labor, political campaigns, or campaign management.

Communication Skills: Possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Campaign Experience: Previous organizing and campaign field management experience is preferred.

Metrics Achievement: Meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals related to metrics and report on quantitative and qualitative measures.

Team Collaboration: Participate in daily calls and meetings with the Missouri Democratic Party.

Training: Attend training sessions on voter contact tactics, program strategy, and safety.

Adaptability: Be ready for varying work hours, including Saturdays, and have your own reliable transportation.

Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and perspectives.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous campaign or other voter contact experience preferred, as a volunteer or staff member.
  • Knowledge of VAN or a willingness to learn is preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of insurance across Missouri.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Extensive travel (50% - 75%) is required.


This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Salary is based on experience $5,000 per month. 
  • Health Insurance Coverage - 100% Employer paid.
  • You must have a computer & reliable transportation.


Expected Hours of Work

  • Employees may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Full-time Regional Organizers must work 40 hours per week.
  • Employees are required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle or other key deadlines and not allowed to take off during blackout periods.
