Missouri Democratic Party on the 10-year anniversary of the ACA

Kansas City, MO (March 23, 2020) – Today marks the 10-year anniversary of President Barack Obama signing the Affordable Care Act into law. Missouri Democratic Party Executive Director Lauren Gepford released the following statement:

“With the country and world fighting the spread of COVID-19, today is a reminder of the importance of health care. Over the past ten years, millions of families have been able to access health care through the Affordable Care Act. The stark difference in leadership between President Obama and President Trump illuminates the contrast between parties. Health care is a human right, and Democrats are working to ensure access for all. Republicans, on the other hand, continue to press forward with their attempts to dismantle protections for people with preexisting conditions, without offering a plan for what’s next. Health care is on the ballot in 2020, and Missourians will be electing leadership who they can trust to protect it.”
