KANSAS CITY, MO. - Last night, the United States House of Representatives passed President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, bringing the country another step closer to a once-in-a-generation investment in our infrastructure. In response, Missouri Democratic Party Chair Butler released the following statement:

“As he promised, President Biden and Democrats worked across the aisle to forge consensus and deliver results. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal is now one step closer to creating good-paying jobs, growing our economy, and making much-needed improvements to critical infrastructure like Missouri roads and highways, bridges, and transit; drinking water systems; and broadband. Thanks to President Biden and Democrats, our country is primed to position American workers, farmers, and businesses to compete and win in the 21st century,” said Chairman Butler

Based on funding formula alone, the state of Missouri would expect to receive:

  • $6.5 billion to improve highways and $484 million for bridge replacement and repairs over five years.

  •  $677 million over five years to improve public transportation options across the state.

  • A minimum of $100 million to help provide broadband coverage across the state, including providing access to the at least 300,000 Missourians who currently lack it. $XX to protect against cyberattacks.
